Sometimes, individuals find it necessary to surrender their pets due to unexpected life changes or unforeseen circumstances. We understand that this is a difficult decision to make, and we can do our best to help your pet find a new home.
Pet admissions are accepted by appointment only and you must fill out an owner surrender request below.
Process & Policies
The admissions process will take 30 minutes. Our Intake Team performs a behavior assessment on every dog to determine their temperament. If the dog being surrendered fails our assessment, we will not be able to admit them into our care and will provide you with alternate suggestions.
The admissions process will take 30 minutes. Please bring your cat in a carrier if possible, however, we do not accept surrenders of cats or kittens in traps. We do not admit feral cats or feral kittens. All cats must pass a Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus test to be admitted into our facility, and the test must be completed prior to the admission intake appointment. The space for cat admissions will depend upon the health of animals at our adoption centers, space, and foster availability.
We are a private nonprofit organization that receives no city, state or federal funding. We rely on revenue that we generate to care for pets while they are in our care. On average, the cost for a one day stay is $25 per pet. Admission Fees help us to offset these costs. To admit a pet into our care for re-homing, we require the following fees:
- $150 per pet – if there is a financial situation in which you are unable to make this donation, please include that on your surrender form. Our goal is to do the most we can to aid you in finding a home for your animal.
